Amy Johnson MS BSN RN-BC
Clinical Informatics Coordinator
Bio
Amy Johnson, MS BSN RN-BC joined Campus Health in 2019 as the Clinical Informatics Coordinator. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of New Mexico and spent 10 years working as a critical care nurse and then as a house supervisor for a hospital system in Albuquerque, NM. During this time, the hospital system implemented their first electronic health record (EHR) system and Amy became involved as a superuser and eventually a system builder and trainer which led her towards the career path of nursing informatics. She spent several years traveling the country helping with EHR implementations in various hospital systems. She earned her Masters of Healthcare Informatics from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona in 2018 and is Board Certified in Informatics Nursing. Although most of her work is “behind the scenes” she loves that it impacts every area of Campus Health and helps the clinicians deliver the best care possible to our students.
Amy, her husband and two kids moved to North Carolina in 2018 and love exploring this area. She enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, yoga, being outdoors and is an avid runner. Steep, mountainous trails with gorgeous views are her favorite!
