Sara Venkat MD

Bio

Dr. Sara Venkat is a board-certified family physician who grew up in Eastern North Carolina and attended the NC School of Science and Mathematics, followed by Duke University, and the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine residency in Austin, TX, where she developed an interest in student health while working at the University of Texas. Dr. Venkat moved back to her home state of North Carolina in 2009, when she joined Accent Urgent Care & After Hours Pediatrics, now WakeMed Urgent Care, where she worked until 2016. She then joined Duke Student Health, where she worked for close to three years before joining NC State Campus Health. She really enjoys working with the student population and is happy to be part of the team at NCSU SHS.

Dr. Venkat and her husband live in Raleigh with their two young children and poodle. In addition to being passionate about medicine, she is an avid artist and writer, having published two children’s books featuring her photography and art. She also enjoys biking and swimming with her family, as well as learning to play the guitar, during her free time.
