Bio
Joanna joined the NC State Campus Health center in January 2023. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UNC Chapel Hill in 2004. After working several years as a RN in surgical services she then earned her Master’s in Nursing at Duke University in 2011. She is a board certified family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her past experience includes working in primary care at Del Norte Community Health Center in Crescent City, California, sexual and reproductive health at Planned Parenthood in Rancho Mirage, California and Coachella, California, as well as most recently at Planned Parenthood in Raleigh. She is happy to be a part of the team at NC State and enjoys empowering students to take an active role in their health.
Outside of work she enjoys traveling and spending time with her spouse, two daughters, and furry, four legged son.
