Gynecology services STI express will continue through the summer semester, see below.

Screening for sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) is important for anyone who is sexually active. Student Health provides STI testing in two ways:

  • Gynecology Services: offers STI testing for students who were born with one or more female reproductive organs (vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, and/or ovaries) regardless of their current gender.
  • Primary Care: offers STI testing for students who were born with one or more male reproductive organs (penis, testes) regardless of their current gender.

STI tests include chlamydia and gonorrhea at all sites of sex (vaginal, anal, throat) and blood tests for HIV, syphilis, and sometimes Hepatitis. You can either make an in-clinic appointment or an STI express appointment.

  • In clinic – meet with a provider to discuss STI prevention and testing and perform tests.
    • Call 919.515.7762 and schedule an appointment in Gynecology Services
    • Call 919.515.2563 to schedule an appointment in Primary Care
  • STI Express – routine testing without an exam
    • This option is for students who:
      • do not have any symptoms of an STI
      • have not been exposed to someone with an STI
      • are not recent survivors of sexual assault (rape) in the last 3 months

To start this process, please follow the steps below:

  • Log into the HealthyPack Portal
  • Go to the Forms Tab
  • Complete and submit the STI Express Questionnaire

If you qualify, the provider orders your tests and sends you a secure message with instructions on how to schedule an appointment online.

  • You collect the chlamydia & gonorrhea swabs yourself when you arrive at Student Health at your appointment time and blood is collected in the Lab at Student Health.
  • Bring your insurance card with you to pay for the testing. If you would like to “self-pay”, please check the box in the STI Express questionnaire.
