Dr. Vu completed his Pharmacy degree from the University of Manitoba, Canada, in 1992 and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Kentucky in 1998. He was a post-doctoral scholar at the University of California in San Diego, CA and the National Institutes of Health in Research Triangle Park, NC, where he conducted cancer research and identified novel molecular targets for drug discovery. He has been a Pharmacy Manager since 2002 with keen interests in holistic health, chronic disease management, personalized medicine, and business innovation.
Prior to joining Student Health Services (SHS) at NC State University, Dr. Vu worked for an international retail company and subsequently Piedmont Health Services, a non-profit community health organization in North Carolina. Here, he helped to pioneer a successful chronic care management program that elevated the health outcomes of underserved Medicare patients. He is passionate about good health and strives to empower patients of all ages and social economics with equal access to the best possible care. To that end, Dr. Vu is currently partnering with a team of dedicated clinicians at SHS to provide quality and comprehensive care to the entire student and staff population at NC State.
Dr. Vu has been a North Carolina native since 2000. He enjoys free time volunteering in local communities and charitable events, traveling, exercising, and practicing martial arts.
