About Keri Massey-Shands

Keri holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Winthrop University and a Master of Public Health degree from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She also serves in the Air Force reserves where she has completed two tours of duty and assists with several training programs. Keri has been very involved in health promotion since her time at Winthrop. She has been a fitness trainer for over 7 years and uses her skills to focus on chronic disease prevention in communities of color and in sexual and gender minorities. She has other interests in nutrition education, health equity, DEI, and decreasing the impacts of social determinants of health in minority populations.
