Winter Break Guide

Congratulations on completing another semester! As we conclude this semester many of you will be traveling over the winter break. We’ve included guidance on ways to safe as you travel and certain actions you should take before you begin your winter break and before your return to campus for the Spring Semester.

Before Leaving Campus for Winter Break

For those students living on or near campus, before leaving on break if you plan to travel home or to another location away from campus, we strongly encourage you to get tested for COVID-19 within the week before you leave. Student Health Services will provide testing at no cost to the student.  

Students can schedule tests ahead of time:

Testing Site Locations and Hours 

Testing Through Thanksgiving

  • The last day Centennial testing will be available is Wednesday 11/18.
  • The last day Avent Ferry Complex testing will be available is Thursday 11/19.
  • The last day SHS tent testing is available is Wednesday 11/25. 
  • Testing appointments will be available from 8:30am – 4pm (with no appointments from 12pm-1pm). 

Testing from Thanksgiving Through December

  • On Monday 11/30 testing will resume at the SHS tent through Friday 12/18. 
  • There will be no testing on Saturdays during this time period. 
  • Testing appointments will be available from 8:30am – 4pm (with no appointments from 12pm-1pm). 

Travel Considerations

Before Returning to Campus for Spring Semester

Student Health Services Winter Break Operations

  • SHS main campus clinic will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday November 26th – 28th
  • SHS Centennial clinic will be closed for Winter Break starting November 26th. 
  • SHS Main Campus clinic will be closed for Winter break December 24th – January 11th. 
  • There will be no testing or clinic operations on Saturdays after Thanksgiving.
