About Sports Medicine

Sports medicine is the care of athletes and active individuals. It includes orthopedic injury and overuse management, as well the management of athletic or activity related medical problems to include asthma, GI and endocrine problems ie sports related fatigue (overtraining).

Services Offered

Our Medical Clinic physicians and advanced practitioners are available for musculoskeletal or other sport concerns, including concussion care. In addition, Dr. Mary Bengtson has a certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Sports Medicine.

If your injury or concern is more appropriately treated by an orthopedist, referral can be arranged.

Appointments for sports medicine can be made on-line via HealthyPackPortal or by calling 919-515-2563.

Referrals and Costs

There are no charges for Sports Medicine appointments to see a provider. There may be charges for any lab tests, X-rays or medicines prescribed.
