Orthopaedics is a branch of medicine concerned with the correction or prevention of deformities, disorders, or injuries of the skeleton and associated structures, such as ligaments and tendons.
***Due to the ongoing local and global health concerns, Cary Orthopaedics will not be providing specialty clinic services onsite this year. Please call 919.515.2563 for questions or more information.
Student Health Services is pleased to offer on-site orthopaedic specialty appointments on Tuesday afternoons from 1 – 4 p.m. in partnership with Cary Orthopaedics, an outside specialty provider, during the fall and spring semesters. Cary Orthopaedics provides excellence in orthopaedic care to address bone and joint pain or dysfunction caused by trauma, sports injuries, and/or degenerative conditions. All students who have paid the student health fee are eligible to make appointments for orthopaedic specialty services.
How to Make an Appointment
Appointments can be made by calling 919.515.2563.
Referrals and Costs
We ask that students please contact their health insurance company for coverage and referral requirements prior to scheduling their appointment. If a referral is needed before you can see a specialist, you can make an appointment with a Student Health Services medical provider, who can provide this referral at no cost to you. Because orthopaedics specialty visits are with an outside provider there are charges for each visit. To assist you, Cary Orthopaedics will file your insurance claim with your health insurance company. You are responsible for any charges incurred during the visit and will be billed directly by Cary Orthopaedics. These charges cannot be billed to your student account.
